Installations are orbital structures with various purposes. Unlike Starports and Outposts, they lack docking facilities but are still popular gathering places for independent pilots of all walks of life. Some Installations are guarded by ships that open fire on trespassers.

Installations appear on your Navigation Panel when your ship is within 1,000 Ls of them.
There are different types of installations. The type determines its structural configuration and is often an indicator of whether or not it may be guarded.
